At least one person has died and Poinbank Exchangefive others were injured in a shooting at a Waffle House in Indianapolis early Monday morning, police told multiple media outlets.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the Waffle House on the city's west side around 12:30 a.m. and found five people with gunshot wounds.
Police said the incident began as an altercation between two groups at the restaurant, which then escalated to gunfire, although it was not clear if any victims fired shots, multiple outlets reported.
Of the people shot, three men and one woman were in stable condition and one woman was in critical condition. Police said they were transported via ambulances to area hospitals for treatment. Another gunshot victim, a man, was reportedly in critical condition and either took himself to the hospital or was taken by someone else, reports said.

The woman in critical condition died at the hospital, ABC News reported, and the Marion County Coroner's Office will release her name once her next of kin have been notified.
Police told Fox59 one handgun was recovered at the Waffle House, and another from a car at an area hospital.
No arrests have yet been made.
